Based in Glasgow, Kayleigh and her Border Terrier Sid love outdoor adventures.
They often go hiking, kayaking and enjoy exploring the scenic landscapes all over Scotland. Kayleigh said Sid, who is 15 years old, is always eager for the next adventure, making each trip special and memorable.
Here are three of their favourite dog-friendly spots.
Signal Rock
I love visiting Signal Rock in Glencoe because it’s an easy walk through a picturesque forest with a charming stream running through it. The serene environment provides a peaceful escape from everyday life. Sid enjoys exploring the forest and splashing in the stream, making it a perfect outing for both of us. It’s a wonderful dog-friendly spot where we can both relax and connect with nature.
Loch Fyne Hotel and Spa
Inveraray holds a special place in my heart, particularly the Loch Fyne Hotel and Spa. This luxurious, dog-friendly hotel offers stunning views of Loch Fyne and is the perfect retreat for both me and Sid. The hotel’s spa is a haven of relaxation, and its proximity to the dog-friendly Inveraray Jail adds a unique and enjoyable historical experience. Sid is always warmly welcomed and he loves the attention and the beautiful surroundings. The combination of comfort, beauty, and dog-friendly areas including a fine dining restaurant makes it an ideal destination for a memorable getaway.
Clashnessie Bay Beach
Clashnessie Bay Beach is another favourite of mine, with its beautiful white sandy shores and an impressive waterfall nearby. Sid and I love spending time here, as he can run freely on the beach and we both enjoy the stunning scenery. It’s not too far from Lochinver Larder where Sid always looks forward to a delicious salmon pie and Ardvreck castle is a great addition on the way back.
