Adele Murray lives in Aberdeenshire with her husband Kev and kids Ava and Jude.

You never know what might surface… Image: Adele Murray

We enjoyed learning about the interesting history of the loch. The guides are very knowledgeable, and they welcome any questions you may have. They even made it fun for kids by giving them ‘Kelpie food’ to throw overboard and see if any surfaced.

Dunnottar Castle

Dunnottar Castle is one of the most picturesque castles in Scotland due to its location. It is perched on the top of a rock at the height of 160ft, surrounded by the North Sea and magnificent cliffs. It has a rich history and has had famous visitors, including Mary Queen of Scots and William Wallace.

Prince Albert’s Cairn

Have you visited the striking cairn? Image: Adele Murray

There are many cairns on the Balmoral Estate in Deeside, but the most famous one has got to be Prince Albert’s with its unusual pyramid shape. You can either walk directly to Prince Albert’s Cairn, or you can do the full circular route to see all of them.
