If you are looking for somewhere to eat around Inverness or the wider Highlands, Kelly Tadd has you covered.
Originally from Thurso, Kelly moved to the Highland capital a few years ago and has since been sharing her foodie adventures on her Instagram page, @haimandawa.
She shares the best grub she and her boyfriend Adam find across the country, as well as snippets of their life together travel guides and tasty recipes.
We challenged Kelly to pick the top three spots she is desperate to head back to soon.
Abhaig B&B
Abhaig B&B near Uig is my number one recommendation for a place to stay on Skye. We love it so much that we go back every year. They do the most incredible two-course breakfast served daily. You will meet the best hosts in Viv and Steve too. I’ve never met two people who I’ve quite literally fallen in love with so quickly.
Xoko
Xoko Bakehouse is a local favourite for us. They are always consistent and have such a lovely menu that really provides a different flavour for Inverness. I adore the team behind it, and it is also home to my top ranked hot choc at Haim! We highly recommend their sausage rolls with salsa if you can get your hands on them.
Aussie Pies
You’ll find these in a rather unassuming Spar shop based the wee village of Cannich. Run by a fabulous family unit making traditional Aussie style pies, these rival our Scottish staples and are available in both the shop and their cafe. If the pies aren’t enough of a draw, their converted double decker bus fitted with seats and wider menu are a must try, with local beer on offer too. Truly a must-visit in the area!
