Do you live in Glasgow and feel like you are always on the hunt for the best slice of pizza or scoop of ice cream?

Shauna McGregor thinks she has found them. The 31-year-old uses her social media to share her favourite finds in the city and beyond.

We asked her to share her top three spots to visit across Scotland, and while two were in her hometown, one special staycation spot also made it into the list.

Errol’s Hot Pizza

Errol’s in Govanhill holds a special place in my heart. It’s on Victoria Road, where I moved into my first flat. The flat was a complete doer-upper, and after long days of scraping off layers of wallpaper, tearing up old carpets and tackling countless other tasks, Errol’s was a carby reward after a long day’s graft.

I’ve had my fair share of pizzas, but I kid you not, Errol’s rivals even the best. Aside from the incredible pizza, the atmosphere is super vibey. It’s laid back and dive-bar-esque with a brash rock playlist.

Our order is sausage and onion and white every time, always with the burrata salad and never without a big dip.

Killiehuntly Farmhouse

A few years ago, my partner and I stayed a night at Killiehuntly Farmhouse in the Scottish Highlands as a wee treat. It’s somewhere we still fondly reminisce about and if we were ever to get married, this place would certainly be up there.

The interiors were so up our street, a gorgeous boutique blend of ‘Scandi-Scot’ style with a colour palette of soft-greys and earthy tones.

Our dinner was made with fresh, seasonal ingredients all grown on site. My partner had been vegetarian for a few years up until this point, he couldn’t say no to the venison lasagna on offer.

One of the highlights was that you actually dined with fellow guests around one big table. At first, we were a bit apprehensive about eating with strangers, but it turned out to be one of the most memorable parts of the experience. It was a joy to connect with people from all over the world. Afterward, we all gathered around a campfire, wrapped in cozy blankets, toasting marshmallows and sipping hot chocolate – it was the perfect end to a perfect stay.

La Gelatessa

This little gem of an ice-cream shop is an absolute must-visit for anyone with a sweet tooth like me. I’m obsessed with the decor here too – it’s giving retro diner-style cafe, with a playful pink theme. The flavour combos are to-die-for too – I love the cinnamon and pear or dark chocco and sea salt. I love them all to be honest.

If it’s cold, the hot chocolate is a dream too, the perfect pick me up and a proper indulgent treat with toasted marshmallow fluff on top.

A fun little tidbit – our bathroom backsplash is made using the offcuts from the tables and worktops at La Gelatessa. It’s a lovely reminder of our favorite spot.
