Marie Stenhouse is based in the north-east but enjoys reviewing eats, stays and visits across Scotland.
We asked for the top three places she has been recently so we can pay them a visit too.
Dunnottar Castle
I grew up in a village called Kinneff, just south of Stonehaven, so I’ve visited here many times. There’s so much history at Dunnottar Castle, and I’d highly recommend going to watch the sunrise there.
Prince Albert’s Pyramid
Prince Albert’s Pyramid is another one of my favorite places to visit. A pyramid in Scotland? The structure itself is absolutely stunning, and the views from the top are surreal, with two different paths leading up to it.
Columba Hotel
I recently returned from a trip to Inverness to promote Inverness Cocktail Week, and my partner and I stayed at the Columba Hotel. Its central location offers incredible views of Inverness Castle and the River Ness right from your hotel room. I cannot recommend staying here enough!
