Take one look at Sarah Bellis’s Instagram page and you know she’s an adventurer.
We challenged her to narrow down her top three favourite spots in Scotland for swimming, hiking and exploring.
Achmelvic Bay
If you’re searching for soft white sand and clear blue waters then Achmelvic Beach is the place for you.
Located near Lochinver on the north west coast of Scotland, Achmelvic beach is surrounded by stunning scenery. Hidden away close to the beach is Hermit’s Castle, the smallest castle in Europe and possibly the world.
In this little corner of paradise you’ll find a place filled with natural beauty to explore, swim and hike.
Blà Bheinn
Fancy a hike? Blà Bheinn is one of the most beautiful mountains in Scotland and one of the easier peaks to bag on the Isle of Skye.
Throughout the hike you’ll be treated to spectacular views and at the summit you’ll get to see the full length of the Black Cuillin Ridge along with sea, mountains and islands in all directions.
At 928 metres, this is the only Munro on Skye that is not part of the Cuillin Ridge. Make sure you add this to your hiking list for an adventure you’ll never forget.
Glen Rosa
If wild swimming is your thing then be sure to take a trip over to the Isle of Arran for a swim in the Blue Pool at Glen Rosa.
This is a beautiful place for a dip whilst taking in the magnificent views up the Glen towards Cìr Mhór and Goatfell.
