Though she has travelled all over the world, Iona Campbell said nothing comes close to her love of Scotland.

When asked to choose her three favourite spots to visit, she struggled to choose. After much deliberation, here are the ones that made the cut.

Dunkeld

Dunkeld is gorgeous in autumn. Image: Iona Campbell

A place for everyone. Surround yourself among some of the tallest trees in Britain, admire the waterfalls, and spot the salmon leap whilst you walk at The Hermitage. Stroll along the River Tay. Visit one of the bakeries or cafes for a delicious treat and stroll through the shops.

Glencoe

My favourite place in the world. A great base for exploring Lochaber, The Outdoor Capital. Watch the sunrise or sunset whilst you bag a Munro or walk along the West Highland Way in the summertime. In the winter, admire the famous snow covered Buachille Etive Mhor, feed the reindeer or try out snow sports at the ski centre. Visit the Kingshouse Hotel for a well deserved meal.

Orkney

Never ending adventure and exploring– nature, beaches, food, wildlife, culture and history. Go island hopping from mainland Orkney – see the Old Man of Hoy, or take the shortest plane! Visit the beautiful Italian Chapel. Try some whisky at the Highland Park Distillery. Taste the Orkney Fudge. Feel the fresh air on your skin as you walk on the peaceful beaches.
