Aberdeen Cocktail Week is back to celebrate the best bars, tipples and bartenders the city has to offer.
We caught up with Charlie Bain, co-organiser of the event, to find out the top three venues he is making sure to visit this year.
No. 10 Bar & Restaurant
This choice is partially nostalgia-based as I met my wife here and I have fond memories of No.10 on Queen’s Terrace. The bar manager Tom is a cocktail whiz. He’s a man who knows his way about a dram and can make excellent recommendations for anyone visiting.
The Tippling House
I remember when this Belmont Street bar first opened, it was a complete departure from the norm in Aberdeen. Over a decade later, it still seems fresh and they’re still serving some of the best drinks around. They also have outstanding bar snacks so it’s worth tucking into a few of those while enjoying a drink or two.
The Old Workshop
This venue on Shiprow is a relatively new addition to the Aberdeen scene and another one that has provided something completely new to what has come before. Milo, the venue’s general manager, is a great guy and his work behind the bar is equally amazing. It’s also very quirky and has a unique intimacy to it.
Aberdeen Cocktail Week is on until October 23. Find out more at aberdeencocktailweek.com.
