Sarah Ahmad is best known for finding and sharing the top foodie spots and hidden gems across Scotland.

Though she is based in Glasgow, when we asked her to name her three favourite places to visit in bonnie Scotland, she ventured far and wide.

The Quiraing

You don’t come by views like this often. Image: Sarah Ahmad

The Quiraing is the perfect location to envision yourself walking amongst prehistoric giants! The landscape is wild and untamed, with the scenery changing every few seconds depending on the weather.

For those looking for a more leisurely stroll, the viewpoint is very accessible, but for a more adventurous experience, you can take on the boggy routes to explore the rocky cliffs where dinosaurs once roamed.

Lochranza Distillery

Nestled within a valley towards Lochranza is one of Isle of Arran’s best whisky distilleries. Set in a beautiful mountainous landscape, this distillery utilises their surroundings and natural resources to create an award-winning Arran Single Malt Scotch Whisky that will leave enthusiasts and visitors wanting more.

Barras Market

An iconic market dating back a century, the Barras Market is a fantastic example of Glasgow culture, showcasing the history of market traders, platforming the most creative community of young artists and makers, and highlighting some of the best food in the city!

For food, check out my favourite spots, Ho Lee Fook, for stunning Asian street food, and Danny’s Do-nuts, for classic sugar doughnuts.
