THEY’RE a fixture of the festive season, with chocolate tins nestled under the Christmas tree in homes across the country on the 25th December.
Whether it’s Roses, Celebrations, Heroes or Quality Street, we all have a favourite.
A recent YouGov poll pitched the classic chocolates against each other.
Quality Street
A Christmas staple in many Brit homes, this brand has been in existence for over 80 years.
Out of the current varieties on offer, ‘The Purple One’ is a clear favourite, 10 points ahead of the next choice, ‘The Green Triangle’.
Cadbury Roses
Another popular choice among chocoholics, Roses were introduced in 1938 and have been going from strength to strength since.
The sweet treats have recently had a makeover, going from the traditional ‘twist’ wrappers to more modern ‘flow wrappers’.
‘Hazel in Caramel’ was Roses winner, although it was a close-run race between it and the ‘Golden Barrel’ and ‘Hazel Swirl’ chocolates.
Celebrations
A newer product compared to Roses and Quality Street, Celebrations are still a firm family favourite for special occasions.
The runaway winner was the ‘Malteasers Teaser’.
The least amount of votes went to the classic Mars Bar.
Cadbury Heroes
The newest of the four chocolate selections, Cadbury Heroes are a handy collection of your favourite bars.
Another tight race to the top, Twirl and Dairy Milk were the top Heroes picks, with Wispa and Dairy Milk Caramel not far behind.
Fudge, Creme Egg and Eclair make up the bottom three.
