ESTONIAN company Liviko has launched a new London Dry-style gin – copper distilled Crafter’s Aromatic Flower Gin.
The gin comes naturally copper-coloured due to rosehip blooms. However, when you mix the gin with dry tonic, it turns pink!
It may seem like witchcraft but the reaction is due to natural colourant found in the cells of rosehip blooms – anthocyanin – when you add tonic it changes colour because of the acidity found in quality tonic.
Crafter´s Aromatic Flower Gin is created of 12 botanicals. The ingredients are inspired by the Nordic nature with a twist of Mediterranean.
The main aromatic botanicals are rosehip, rose petals, meadowsweet, chamomile and elderflower.
The new gin was first produced in the end of September 2017 and only in a small batch – 2000 bottles.
If you’re hoping to impress dinner party guests with a show-stopping G and T, you may have to wait a little longer as the gin is currently only available in Estonia.
Liviko are hoping to begin distributing the gin in Scotland in 2018.
