LEGENDARY musician Nile Rodgers and his band Chic will be part of the BBC’s London-based New Year celebrations.
BBC One will broadcast a special concert live as the clock approaches midnight, with the world-famous fireworks display taking place over the Thames.
Nile, who was this year inducted into the Rock N Roll Hall Of Fame, said: “This is a great way to end our 40th year in a spectacular fashion and kick off a new year that will start with the release of the first new Chic music in years and the new album. Good Times are coming in 2018!”
The band, famous for hits including Everybody Dance and Le Freak, have had a resurgence in recent years and have sold out arenas across the country.
Guy Freeman, Editor Special Events for the BBC says: “With a host of timeless disco party classics on their setlist, I am sure that living rooms up and down the land will be boogieing along until the wee small hours!”
BBC Scotland have yet to announce their own Hogmanay line-up.
