PARTICK Thistle’s Chris Erskine says he feels “embarrassed” after being nominated for the club’s player-of-the-year award.
Midfielder Erskine was nominated alongside Tomas Cerny, Conor Sammon and Blair Spittal for the end-of-season award in what has been a hugely disappointing campaign for the club.
Genuinely embarrassed to be nominated for this. With the season we have had, the POTY for the first team should be scrapped

The Jags – who finished sixth in the Scottish Premiership last season – are currently bottom of the table with just five games to go, one point adrift of Ross County in the play-off place and five short of Dundee and Hamilton.
They face a crucial game against Accies on Saturday that could go some way to reviving their campaign, but Erskine has called for the award to be scrapped after such a poor season.
Erskine, who has scored six times this season, posted on Twitter: “Genuinely embarrassed to be nominated for this.
“With the season we have had, the POTY for the first team should be scrapped.”
