PAUL MCGOWAN has signed a new Dundee contract – days after St Johnstone made a move for the midfielder.
Dundee moved quickly to tie up the 30-year-old beyond the end of the season after Saints boss Tommy Wright confirmed on Tuesday that his club had put in an official request to speak to the player.
McGowan’s contract was due to expire at the end of the season.
A club statement read: “Paul has today signed a one-year contract extension with an option of a further year.”
The former Celtic and St Mirren player is in his fourth season at Dens Park and is close to making 150 appearances for the club.
