PAWSQUAD is a mobile vet service providing home visits and 24/7
advice via their app.
The stress-free services are now available in Edinburgh and Glasgow.
Vets will be contactable throughout the whole of the festive period, so pet owners can turn to PawSquad when their normal practice is closed or if they’re away visiting friends or relatives.
Launched in London in 2016, PawSquad have been busy expanding all over the UK.
The new business has gone from strength to strength, with more than 10,000 pets already on their books.
The Sunday Post accompanied Edinburgh vet Mhairi Fleming on a home visit, where she vaccinated and microchipped eight twelve-week-old puppies.
The owner explained that she had no idea how she would have taken all of the pups to her local vet. Not only would she have had to find a carrier big enough for the whole litter, she also would have had to travel on public transport.
There was also the added issue that puppies’ mum became anxious when separated from her offspring.
Armed with scales, medicines and piles of paperwork, Mhairi completed the health checks, injections, micro chipping and weighing with ease.
It’s a service that would be ideal for those who could have difficulty travelling to their local vet, whose pets become stressed at the clinic, or for special occasions… like a new litter of puppies!
How PawSquad works
Owners book an appointment with their local vet, online or over the phone.
The vet will get their medical records from the current vet, to make sure they’re up to date before the visit.
When it’s time for the appointment, they pop over to the house with the necessary equipment.
The health check along with any additional procedures and medications are all provided on site.
In case the pet needs surgery, the company works with local partner practices, and owners also benefit from an out of hours emergency service.
Medications are delivered to the owner’s door via next day delivery.
For existing customers, The PawSquad app helps clients stay on top medications, appointments and consultation notes, allows them easily get in touch with your vet.
The owner can stay registered with both PawSquad and their current vet if they wish.
