Mara is a gorgeous Doberman pinscher looking for an active and experienced new home. She is currently being cared for by the Scottish SPCA Highlands and Islands Animal Rescue and Rehoming Centre.
She is friendly and affectionate once she gets to know you, but initially she is very wary of new people, particularly men, therefore she would be best suited to a female owner. Mara would also benefit from a quiet home where there aren’t too many visitors.
Mara’s new owner will need to have experience with Dobermans or similar larger breeds. They will also need to have some experience with positive reinforcement training and behavioural issues.
She gets on well with other dogs and would benefit from having doggy friends that she can meet up with for walks and play-dates. However, Mara will need to be the only pet in the home so that she can continue with her training in a calm and quiet environment.
Mara loves to play and go for her walks, although she can become quite bouncy and strong on her lead at times. She will make a loyal and loving companion for the right owner.
If you can give Mara her new home, please apply via the Scottish SCPA website: https://www.scottishspca.org/rehome-a-pet/7887-mara
