Police searching for missing Lanark man William Higgins find body in woodland

A BODY has been discovered in woodland in the search for a missing man from South Lanarkshire.
Formal identification has yet to take place but police believe it to be William Higgins, 49, who disappeared from Auctioneers Way in Lanark.
Mr Higgins has been missing from the area since March 25.
A spokesman for Police Scotland said: “Around 5.45pm on Tuesday police were called to a report of a body being found at Cartland Crags woodland area, Lanark.
“A post-mortem examination will be carried out in due course and the death is not being treated as suspicious.”
Police say a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.
