The Strictly judges are well known for dishing out a bashing after a poor performance.
But this week Anneka Rice was battered and bruised before she even took to the dancefloor.
The 60-year-old TV presenter admitted rehearsals for last night’s movie-themed Charleston performance were so tricky, both she and pro partner Kevin Clifton were left covered in blood and bruises – perhaps appropriate given their choreography was set to the song Woo Hoo, which soundtracked the kung fu violence of Quentin Tarantino’s movie Kill Bill.
“It really has been murder on the dance floor,” explained Anneka, who last week managed to avoid the dance-off.
“We trained with Kendo sticks and I was covered in bruises… I could barely move!
“There was even blood coming off my arm – it has been very physical this week. The Charleston is not a walk in the park.”
Portraying Uma Thurman’s assassin, The Bride, Anneka slipped back into her trademark jumpsuit. But the mum of three admits she’s desperate to wear dresses.
She said: “After last week I’m now obsessed with wearing dresses – I have real incentive to stay in another week now, so I can get another dress on!”
Olympic rower James Cracknell, 47, was the first celebrity to be eliminated last week. The remaining 14 couples now face the public vote.
Strictly continues tonight, BBC1, 7.15pm.
