The 25-year-old midfielder is understood to have put pen to paper on the deal yesterday, with the former Aberdeen captain’s move to Ibrox in the offing for the past couple of weeks.
Caixinha told the Rangers website: “I believe 25 is a great age for him to come here. He had three years as captain of Aberdeen and has that experience, he also understands what it means to represent Rangers.”
Meanwhile, Carlos Pena appears to be on his way to Scotland.
ESPN Mexico reporter Iván Cañada tweeted a picture of the midfielder at an airport as he makes his way to Glasgow to finalise the move to Rangers.
