Alfredo Morelos isn’t in a huff, despite finding himself on the bench at Ibrox.
Rangers boss Steven Gerrard maintains the striker had no problem with finding himself out of the starting XI after ending a four-match suspension.
The 22-year-old Colombian was banned after being red-carded in the last Old Firm clash at Parkhead.
He was forced to watch Jermain Defoe take his place and score three goals in five games.
Many fans believe Rangers play a more effective, attacking style with the veteran leading the line.
Morelos came off the bench against Hibs last Sunday and is likely to have a similar role against Celtic today.
Gerrard said: “Alfredo’s reaction has been positive this week.
“I haven’t seen any sulking or bad attitude with regards to the decisions we’ve made.
“I wouldn’t say he was left out. He got a four-game suspension and we won them pretty well, playing well.
“We created chances and Jermain scored goals.
“So he wasn’t left out, his ban took him out. He played a part last weekend and could have scored a couple of goals.
“When that happens to you and the team win, you have to accept the situation. I’ve experienced it myself.
“You have to work as hard as you can for when the next opportunity comes, and Alfredo has done that.
“He came off the bench with the right attitude and mentality.
“I want both strikers firing. That’s in the best interests of everyone here and our chances of being successful.”
With Marseille rumoured to be lining up a £16-million bid for Morelos, it remains to be seen if his contentment continues through the summer.
Meanwhile, Gerrard has hailed the contribution of midfielder Steven Davis.
The Northern Ireland captain will definitely be at Ibrox next season after agreeing a one-year contract.
Gerrard said: “He’s in great form. He’s sharper, he’s quicker, he’s more confident, he’s happier.
“His contract situation’s sorted now.
“I expect him to finish strongly, have a good pre-season and then really contribute for the whole season next year.
“There’s a big part for Steven to play.”
