CELTIC hit a new high point under Brendan Rodgers against Manchester City.
And the good news for Bhoys fans is that it looks like there is still plenty of room for improvement.
The way they pressed against City – against Guardiola, the master of the aggressive pressing game – was a joy to watch.
The way they threw caution to the wind in attack was exhilarating.
In the end, the way the held out was admirable.
But imagine how much better it could have been if the energy levels Celtic exhibited for the first 60 minutes could have been kept up for the full 90.
Knowing Brendan Rodgers’ style as a manager, that is exactly what he will be aiming for.
And if things are this good just a few months in, I reckon there’s every chance that come December, January time, Celtic will be a frightening prospect.
That will have Hoops fans cock-a-hoop.
And it will have Rangers supporters dreading the Hogmanay clash.
The gap between the Old Firm has been narrowing since Rangers’ demotion in 2012.
It has started to widen again and, unless Mark Warburton sorts things, another rout is on the cards.
