Jermain Defoe has thanked fans for their messages after he was involved in a car crash in Glasgow this evening.
The Rangers striker took to Instagram to tell followers that he was ok, after pictures on social media showed him at the scene of a three-car smash near the city’s Clyde Tunnel.
Earlier, a Rangers statement confirmed that Defoe had been involved in the collision and that “no one was seriously injured.”
Defoe said: “Thank you for all your lovely messages, I know you must’ve been so worried! I’m fine, all good, I’m just going to go home and rest up, still a bit in shock.”
The incident happened just hours after the former England striker netted in Rangers’ 5-0 win over Aberdeen at Ibrox.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Police were called to reports of a three-car road traffic collision along Balshagray Avenue at 6.05pm.
“Officers remain on the scene. There are no injuries.”
