RANGERS star Jamie Murphy is set to miss the rest of the season after suffering an ACL injury.
The 28-year-old, who signed a permanent deal with the club having spent half of last season on loan from Brighton, was stretchered off in the BetFred Cup win over Kilmarnock on Sunday.
It was feared he’d suffered a serious injury, and Ibrox boss Steven Gerrard confirmed the prognosis in a press conference today.

Murphy’s injury has reignited the debate over the use of artificial pitches in Scotland’s top flight, with Gerrard raising his concerns over synthetic surfaces being played on at an elite level.
Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has also criticised their use, and yesterday Player’s Union chief Fraser Wishart warned authorities to stop ignoring players’ views on the pitches.
Looks like I’m going to be out for a while, lucky I have these 3 to keep me busy ? Thanks everyone for your well wishes and continued support, I will be back! ??⚽️ pic.twitter.com/CWQK6HMh1H

The SPFL have said they adopt strict and regular inspections to ensure the pitches are safe and up to standard.
Rangers, meanwhile, will also be without Lassana Coulibaly for Thursday’s clash with FC Ufa in the Europa League play-offs.
