The Lighthouse Keeper’s Cottages on Ailsa Craig, off the Ayrshire coast, have a starting price of £175,000. The four cottages, which have lay derelict for years, need renovating, with costs of up to £750,000. The island is home to Europe’s biggest gannet colony and a 16th Century castle. There is no gas, electricity or sewage but fresh water comes from two wells.
