ONE of the remotest cafes in the country is seeking a new owner.
The chance to run the eatery on the Hebridean Isle of Canna comes at a time when the island’s population has fallen to around 15.
The lease to Café Canna, situated near the island’s harbour, has been placed on the market with an asking price of £20,000.
Current owner Chris Deplano said that it had been a “magical adventure” though “now was the time to hand the apron on to someone else”.
He took over in 2014, leasing vacant premises from the island’s landlord The National Trust for Scotland following a community appeal to repopulate the island.
