Music industry event RESONATE has unveiled its programme for 2019, aiming to showcase Scotland’s diverse creative scene and encourage collaboration.

Key speakers and panellists for the 2019 event include artist and double Grammy winner Dame Evelyn Glennie, songwriter Jim Duguid and 2018 Scottish Album of the Year award nominee Kobi Onyame.

Also on the line-up are Pat Carr (Remote Control Agency), Stephen Kirkwood (Skapade Studios / Artist), Hilary Brooks (SWIM), Rich Orchard (CD Baby) and Gail Cooke.

Featuring its most extensive programme to date, the event features a mix of industry heads, musicians and professionals and aims to provide key insights across a number of exciting panels and workshops.

The event returns for a third year running to the Barras Art and Design Centre (BAad) on Thursday November 14, with a focus on collaboration, creativity, accessibility, development and artist inclusion.

The panels will discuss huge pressing music industry issues and topics ranging from creativity, international success, education, income opportunities, career development, collaboration and more.

The event has also pledged to PRS Foundation’s Keychange Programme which aims to achieve a 50:50 gender balance across festivals and conference programmes by 2020.

Robert Kilpatrick of The Scottish Music Industry Association (SMIA) said: “RESONATE has quickly but firmly established itself as a not-to-miss event for anyone working in – or wanting to work in – music in Scotland.

“Whether you’ve worked in music for years or you’re just starting out, RESONATE has value for all who attend; not least in the fact that the event provides an incredible networking opportunity that compliments a wide range of engaging and highly relevant panels and workshops.

“The SMIA is delighted to again partner with the event as it enters its third year. We’re very much looking forward to what will be an incredibly valuable, insightful and inspiring day for all.”

Jamie Houston of Creative Scotland said: “Now in its third year, RESONATE has become an important fixture in the Scottish music calendar, and a valuable platform for networking and learning within the industry.

“We are pleased to support 23rd Precinct in offering Scotland’s vibrant music sector this opportunity for global collaboration and engagement with key industry representatives, to strengthen Scotland’s music scene.”
