Reward of £10,000 offered to help catch killer of Airdrie father in drive-by shooting

A £10,000 reward is on offer for information after a father was murdered in a drive-by shooting outside his home.

Gary More, 32, was targeted outside his house in Airdrie, North Lanarkshire, on September 6.

The father of two was shot at around 8.10pm by a gunman who fled Gartness Drive in a white Skoda later found burnt out.

Crimestoppers is offering a reward of up to £10,000 for information to help catch and convict Mr More’s killer.

Angela Parker from the charity said: “The thought of a drive-by shooting is absolutely terrifying and my immediate thoughts are with Gary’s family.

“They are desperate for answers as to why someone would be so callous in taking him away from them. Gary had two children, and now they will have to grow up without their dad.

“Our charity takes information 100% anonymously. Always. No-one will know you contacted us, and it could be your information that makes the difference. So please, contact us and be an ambassador for your community.”

Mr More’s sister Lynsey said the family’s hearts had been broken by his death.

In a previous appeal for information, she said: “People who really knew Gary know how much he valued friends and family – they were the centre of his life.

“He was a good person with a good heart and we all loved him so much. Our world has been shattered and our lives will never be the same again.”

Detectives believe the car used by the suspect was stolen from the Pollokshields area of Glasgow on August 2.

Its original registration was SH13 UMG but it may have had other plates fitted.

The same model and colour of car was found burnt out near Craigmaddie Road in Balmore, Milngavie, after the murder.
