FILMING for Universal Studio’s Fast and Furious spin off begins today in Glasgow.
Starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Vanessa Kirby, Idris Elba and Jason Statham, filming of the blockbuster will take place on a number of Glasgow city centre streets until Monday 29 October.
A crew of around 200 are expected to descend upon the city to create David Leitch’s action-packed movie.
Much office excitement. We’ve a great view of #fastandfurious #hobbsandshaw filming in Glasgow. Remarkably quiet so far but if anything like this happens we'll let you know… pic.twitter.com/aFOFkXcC6z

Many Hollywood motion pictures have been filmed in Glasgow over the last few years including World War Z, starring Brad Pitt, Fast & Furious 6, Outlaw King, starring Chris Pine, and Under the Skin, starring Scarlett Johansson.
It has been revealed that Idris Elba will be playing the film’s villain in an Instagram post by Dwayne Johnson (below).
