RANGERS have announced that defender Rob Kiernan has joined Southend United for an undisclosed fee.
The 26-year-old, who Mark Warburton signed from Wigan in July 2015, had fallen out of favour under Pedro Caixinha.
The arrivals of Bruno Alves and Fabio Cardoso pushed Kiernan down the pecking order, with the Portuguese boss also preferring Danny Wilson and David Bates at the tail end of last season.
Kiernan, who had previously spent time on loan at the League One club in 2013, told Southend’s website: “I’m glad it’s all sorted and I can get ready for the season ahead.”
