A Scot cycling the world solo needs help to re-home two street dogs found injured on her travels.
Ishbel Taromsari, from Glasgow, hopes to raise £3000 to fly both animals to Scotland.
She found them abandoned and critically injured while cycling across Brazil.
“Maria was dying of tick disease. I was cycling her in a dog trailer attached to my bike 500km to the Dogs in Brazil shelter when I pedalled by Murphy,” said Ishbel.
“He was missing an ear and had a hole in his head. I knew if I left him he would die.”
The caring cyclist raised money for medical costs with help from followers of her World Bike Girl blog and via social media.
“Brazil is the worst country I’ve ever travelled for the torture and suffering of animals,” she added.
“Murphy had to have an eye taken out but both are healthy now.”
Ishbel decided to adopt Maria and has found a Scottish family to care for Murphy.
She has been rescuing stray animals while cycling across 20 countries since 2014.
Both dogs will be able to enter the UK next month.
