RUTH DAVIDSON has insisted she is focused on becoming First Minister despite claims a plan has been hatched with Michael Gove to get her into Downing Street.
The Scottish Tory leader is popular with English members and it was reported yesterday that party grandees want Mr Gove to replace Theresa May and become “caretaker” Prime Minister for two years as soon as the UK leaves the EU next March.
But sources close to Ms Davidson insist she is only thinking about the Holyrood vote in 2021.
