Ryan Gosling has once again set hearts a-flutter thanks to the new shots of him in the Barbie movie, due out some time next year.
In it he plays Ken, a largely silent figure who you dress up in fancy clothes and put into various poses.
Gosling seems to have put some practice in while filming The Gray Man, a big-budget action thriller where he plays a largely silent figure who the directors dress up in fancy clothes and put into various poses.
The Gray Man has flurries of quips and fists, sideways winks at the audience, and lots of visits to and machine-gunning of glamorous locations around the globe.
Cinemas are also showing this $200million blockbuster and perhaps it’s better-suited to a multiplex; an early fight scene in a fireworks site was dazzling but not in a good way, mainly because it felt like the pyrotechnics were designed by scientists to induce a seizure.
Glum Gosling is fired round the world by a hokey plot and, despite shooting, stabbing and thumping nearly everyone he meets, looks particularly sleepy throughout.
Chris Evans steals the movie from under Gosling’s nose as an astronomical jerk with a terrible moustache; a man who rewards Billy Bob Thornton’s sass with a loafer in the face.
Compared to Evans’ colourful rascal, Gosling was left looking particularly, well, grey.
