RANGERS are closing in on a deal to bring Allan McGregor back to the Ibrox in the summer window.
According to reports, the Scotland goalkeeper is in advanced talks with his former club about returning north when his contract at Hull City runs out.
The 36-year-old has impressed in the Championship this season, keeping 12 clean sheets.
Hearts have also been credited with an interest in McGregor, but it’s understood the Gers are in pole position to land his signature.
McGregor left Ibrox in 2012 for Besiktas following Rangers’ financial collapse.
He spent a year at the Turkish side before moving to the Tigers.
He has the offer of a new contract with the Yorkshire club on the table, but has failed to agree terms.
Meanwhile, Rangers’ current number one Wes Foderingham looks set to miss out on Sunday’s Old Firm clash and could be out of action for the rest of the season.
The Daily Record reports that Foderingham is still suffering from the shoulder injury that ruled him out of last Sunday’s match against Hearts.
