SCOTLAND international Caroline Weir has signed for Manchester City.
The Dunfermline-born midfielder joins from Liverpool Ladies on a two-year-deal.
The 22-year-old was Scotland’s Player of the Year in 2016 and joins international team mates Claire Emslie and Jen Beattie in the squad.

“I’m really excited to be here. It’s a great club and I’m really delighted to be a part of it,” Weir told ManCity.com. “City are leading the way in the women’s game in so many different ways.
“There are so many great players here and I think it’s a challenge to compete for trophies and try to improve – which is what brought me here.”
“I’ve spoken to Claire Emslie a little bit already as I know her very well, she’s excited for me to join and I saw Jen Beattie earlier as well – it’s great to see some familiar faces, but I’m excited to meet the rest of my team mates too.”
Caroline won the Sporting Breakthrough Award at last year’s Nordoff Robbins Scottish Sporting Awards, supported by The Sunday Post.
She has also played for Arsenal and Bristol City.
