IF you’re looking for a big lottery win, it seems you should look further afield than just what the UK has to offer.
An analysis of the world’s biggest jackpot draws has revealed the gigantic average amount winners can receive per game, and many Scots are already opting to enter international lotteries, including the Irish Lotto, EuroMillions and US PowerBall.
International lottery ticket sales (i.e. for games that Brits cannot normally enter) have gone up by over 700% on Jackpot.com in the last nine months, the online lottery platform who conducted the research.
Looking at the last ten jackpot wins for each lottery, ranging from February 2014 to May 2017, it’s clear that it doesn’t pay for Brits to be lottery loyal to one game.
Compared to a global jackpot average of £28.7 million, the US Powerball pays out over 11x more money and the lesser known EuroJackpot offers 1.6x more.
Jackpot.com’s CEO, Yariv Ron said: “The breadth of quality lotteries around the world is staggering and our customers are proving that going global is the future of lotto.”
