BOYZONE have confirmed that one of their last full tour shows will take place at Scotfest in Edinburgh this summer.
And they also claim Scots fans at the Ingliston eighties and nineties fest on Saturday July 7 will be amongst the first to see live renditions of their brand new material, released over the coming weeks.
It was revealed last week that the group, who had eighteen top ten hits including No Matter What and Love Me For A Reason, will split after celebrating their 25th anniversary.
Their farewell record, released over the summer, will include newly-recovered recordings of songs that Stephen Gately made before his death in 2009.
His bandmates have contributed new vocals to these tracks, with an eye to releasing them.
The band’s Mikey Graham said: “We’re so excited to play Scotfest. We have a new album and will have released some singles in the summer for that.
“Scotfest is one of our opening gigs and then we are on tour to Australia and South East Asia and by January next year we will be doing an arena tour of the UK.
“I want to thank our Scottish fans for their support. I’m really looking forward to getting back to Scotland and such lovely warm people there.”
Scotfest organiser Mark Bennett added: “Boyzone have chosen Scotfest for one of their final full tour shows and in absolutely honoured that they have done that.
“After the festival they say they are going to Australia, New Zealand and Asia before hoping to play an arena tour of the UK sometime next year.”
“The boys have also said they will be playing tracks from their new album including the newly discovered Stephen Gately vocals. As a Boyzone fan I’m ecstatic.”
Boyzone will join other bands on July 7 at the family friendly fest including B*witched, 5ive, East 17 and Liberty X.
The Jacksons will join The Bay City Rollers, Five Star, S Club and 911 on July 6.
