SCOTS will blow a record £6.7 billion this Christmas as Black Friday’s deals kick-start shopping this week.
Websites are set to crash under demand as price cuts catapult Black Friday’s spending in Scotland to £221m, up 8% on last year’s £204m. The prediction for this Friday’s spree works out at a staggering £153,000 a minute.
Friday’s high street spending in Scotland will jump 4% to £123m, with online spending in Scotland leaping 15% to £98m, according to a Centre for Retail Research study.
