Scottish wrestling star Drew McIntyre makes return to WWE's Monday Night Raw

SCOT Drew McIntyre made his return to one of wrestling’s biggest shows last night.

The Ayrshire-born star teamed up with Dolph Ziggler in an attack on the Titus Worldwide team as the ‘Superstar Shake-up’ brought him back to Monday Night Raw.

McIntyre was last seen on WWE’s flagship show back in 2014.

He was released from the company that year and went on to wrestle around the world for various independent promotions.

He also returned to Glasgow-based Insane Championship Wrestling where he had made his name (as Drew Galloway) before heading Stateside.

He rejoined WWE in 2017 and became champion on the NXT developmental brand.

He lost the title in November, suffering an torn bicep in the process, and has now received the call-up back to Monday nights after his rehab.

His appearance back on Raw was welcomed by fans and his friends at ICW.

Rachel Lynch tweeted: “I am honestly in tears at what an emotional moment it is to see my boy on RAW after such a journey.

“I’ve watched him for over 10 years and now I get to watch him on TV getting the recognition he deserves! Sky’s the limit!”

Another fan wrote: “YES! Drew McIntyre is officially back on the main roster, back on #RAW! Think I have another new favourite!”

A spokesperson from ICW said: “Drew McIntyre helped put ICW on the map. He took the ICW Heavyweight Championship and defended it across the globe, giving it World Title status.

“He was also one of the main features of our Fear & Loathing event at the SSE Hydro, the biggest British independent professional wrestling show in thirty years.

“We’re forever grateful to Drew for what he has done for ICW and cannot wait to see what he brings to the RAW brand.”
