CARLO ANCELOTTI has been sacked by Bayern Munich.
The Italian had been under growing pressure ahead of last night’s Champions League clash with PSG.
And the Bavarians’ 3-0 defeat, their biggest group-stage loss in 21 years, was to be his final game in charge.
A club statement read: “Following an internal analysis in Munich on Thursday 28 September 2017, FC Bayern München have announced the club is to part company with head coach Carlo Ancelotti with immediate effect.
“Assistant coach Willy Sagnol will take charge of the team on an interim basis.”
The German giants face Celtic in a Champions League double header at the end of October.
They’re the second club in the Hoops’ group to part ways with their manager after Anderlecht sacked head coach Rene Weiler ten days ago.
Assistants Thomas Binggeli, Nicolas Frutos and David Sesa took charge in last night’s 3-0 defeat to the Scottish Champions.
Celtic are third in the group, level on points with Bayern but behind on goal difference.
