The drinks menu is a delight. We recommend trying one of Sesame & Ginger’s cocktails…or a bubble fruit tea.
Location
Tucked away in The Village, at 38 Kirkton Park, East Kilbride, it’s a hop, skip and a jump away from the town centre.
First impressions
You won’t miss the vibrant yellow sign, housed amid neighbouring shops, but stepping inside the restaurant and takeaway, it’s small, cosy and welcoming.
Service
The bubbly owner welcomes us with open arms and genuinely can’t do enough. It’s a family business – and it really shows. When you eat here, you are part of the family. The hospitality and service are second to none.
Menu
Be prepared… you’ll be salivating just perusing the menu because every single dish sounds delicious.
Sesame & Ginger sells fusion food, from the traditional dishes like sweet and sour and satay to specialities including bang bang and Korean hot toss chicken. You’ll be hard pushed to choose.
Taste
The delicious mini spring rolls set the bar at a high level, and they were met with high praise for the sweet and sticky crispy chicken in Mandarin sauce which was absolutely delicious.
The honey chilli garlic chicken got a double thumbs up from across the table. The Chinese style chicken nuggets were hailed the best the kids had tasted. Coffees and banana fritter and ice cream were the perfect finale to a perfect meal.
Ambience
We arrived for an early dinner ahead of what looked to be shaping up as a very busy Saturday night service both for the restaurant and take away but didn’t feel rushed. In fact, quite the opposite. Very relaxed and homely.
Price
Our bill came in at just over £60 which was very reasonable. There is also an fantastic two course set menu Sun-Thurs for £13.50.
