SILENT WITNESS star Liz Carr was left hospitalised after being stabbed in the head by a scissor-wielding attacker.
The actress, who portrays scientist Clarissa Mullery in the popular TV show, was reportedly lunged at by a man near Euston station in central London last week.
She is recovering from a slash wound following the attack while her carer was also taken to hospital, according to The Sun.
A suspect in his 20s was arrested by officers on suspicion of GBH and taken into custody at a north London police station, the Metropolitan Police said.
A spokesman said the man has since been detained under the Mental Health Act.
“The two women were taken to hospital suffering minor cuts and subsequently discharged.”
A friend of Carr told The Sun: “There was blood everywhere but she was very lucky that the wound grazed her head and she was not more seriously injured.
“Typically, Liz is putting a brave face on it – joking that it was like being attacked by Edward Scissorhands.
“She has no idea who he was and has never seen him before.”
Carr suffers from rare genetic condition arthrogryposis multiplex congenital and has been in a wheelchair since the age of seven.
