Sign Up SINGER Sandi Thom is cutting her ties to Oxfam in the wake of the exploitation scandal. Sandi, 36, from Banff described allegations emerging from Haiti and claims of a cover-up as “shameful”. The star said: “In light of everything that has been unearthed, I believe it is only right that I end my relationship with Oxfam. “This has deeply tarnished its reputation.” Haiti President: Oxfam sex scandal is only tip of the iceberg Sandi travelled to Malawi with the charity in 2008. At the time she said: “My visit to Malawi opened my eyes to the extent of poverty and the reality of how some people live. “The people I met in Malawi, and many millions like them around the world, need people here to show generosity when they need it most.” Sandi joins a growing number of high-profile names who have ended their involvement with the aid agency. Minnie Driver and Archbishop Desmond Tutu quit the charity with actor Stephen Fry urging Oxfam to “get its house in order”.
