HEAVY SNOW has led to school closures and difficult driving conditions for commuters in the north east of Scotland.
Police said there have been several minor accidents across Aberdeenshire, with some cars slipping off the road.
The Met Office has issued a yellow warning of snow and ice for Grampian, Central, Tayside and Fife, Orkney and Shetland, Highlands and Western Isles, warning of wintry showers and icy patches on untreated roads.

The warning said that 2cm to 5cm of snow may accumulate on ground above 100 metres.
North East Police have posted advice on their Facebook page, saying: “Don’t think we need to point out that there’s a bit of snow falling in the #NorthEast this morning – however we would remind motorists to please take care on the roads and take your time.”
Nineteen schools in Aberdeenshire have been closed due to the weather while others are partially closed.
