SNP MP Philippa Whitford has told how she has been reduced to shouting at the new Prime Minister on TV – after breaking her ankle.
The Central Ayrshire MP is laid up at home after breaking the joint in three places last weekend.
Sitting with her ankle up on a footstool in her Ayrshire home, Dr Whitford, the SNP’s Westminster Health spokeswoman, said: “I was out seeing the award-winning Clean Up Tarbolton Woods campaign and slipped on an embankment, breaking my ankle badly.
“It was far from the beaten track and a real task for the superb paramedics, Ivan and Andy, to find me.
“I am hugely frustrated at being kept away from parliament at this time.
“So much is going on and I can only take part by watching on TV or through emails from colleagues.
“The good thing is that I can shout back at Boris Johnson without getting told off by the Speaker!”
