Do you often shy away when someone takes your photo? Or smile without showing your teeth? Perhaps you feel very insecure about your smile? Missing, squint or chipped teeth can cause us all sorts of problems besides affecting our photographs and confidence. So it is no wonder more and more people are taking steps to transform their smiles – and it is not as expensive as you may think.
Cosmetic dental treatments abroad are now high quality and affordable and one company that is saving Scottish patients hundreds of pounds is Kreativ Dental which has a world-class facility in Hungary.
Here, below, are 5 cosmetic dentistry treatments that are available from the award-winning International Dental Clinic of the Year 2018 that could not only change your smile, but your life….
1. Dental implants
They are artificial tooth roots that are drilled into the jaw bone (see picture above) to hold to replacement tooth. Made of titanium, a stable, totally resistant metal that is bio-compatible and well tolerated by the human body, dental implants are now a well-established, tried-and-tested treatment and will greatly improve your quality of life.
Ideal for filling gaps left behind by missing teeth, dental implants have three components (an implant, an abutment and the crown) and look natural. Having a single tooth implant (with all components including X-rays) would cost around £1,200 in the UK and £400 at Kreativ Dental’s Hungary clinic.
2. Crowns
As a fixed alternative to dentures, a crown is a permanent solution to fix cracked, damaged, decayed or missing teeth and is the most popular of all restorative dental work. A crown is a cap, or jacket, that’s fitted over the tooth to improve the look of it. They can cost around £800 (Zirconium) and £450 (Porcelain) in the UK, but £400 (Zirconium) and £250 (Porcelain) at Kreativ Dental.
3. Bridges
A bridge, like a crown, is a very popular option for people seeking restorative dental work, because it actually replaces a missing tooth, or teeth. A bridge can be held securely in place by cementing or being fixed in the mouth. A bridge involves at least three crowns spanning and filling the space of the missing tooth (like the image above). A bridge unit with crowns would usually cost upwards of £500 but at Kreativ Dental it costs around £380.
4. Bone replacement treatment
A “sinus lift” or “sinus augmentation” can be performed when there is not sufficient bone in the upper jaw, or the sinuses are too close to the jaw for dental implants to be placed.
It is a common technique used for adding bone in upper jaw (maxilla) in the area of the premolar and molar teeth. The maxillary sinuses are hollow cavities that occupy the back of the upper jaw. The bone is added between the jaw and the maxillary sinuses.
To make space for the bone, the sinus membrane is moved upward, or “lifted.”
Sinus Lift treatment is normally around £1,200 in the UK, whereas at Kreativ Dental (pictured above) it is £730, a saving of nearly £500. All its sinus lifts are performed by oral surgeon Dr. Louis Patonay.
5. Veneers
Popular with celebrities and famous faces all striving for the perfect smile, veneers change the aesthetics of your grin.
A veneer, which is a layer that is placed over a tooth, can be ‘composite’ or ‘dental porcelain’ (the more expensive option) and is fitted to improve the colour, shape or position of teeth.
Composite veneers can cost around £650 in the UK, and at Kreativ Dental they are £470.*Click here to view Kreativ Dental’s video and if you would like to discuss any cosmetic dentistry procedures, then get in touch with Kreativ Dental via the website by clicking here.
