MUSIC fans heading to see Ed Sheeran this weekend have been urged to plan their journey in advance and be prepared for queues.
There have also been warnings issued about ticket checks and the potential for bad weather ahead of the singer’s three sold-out shows at Glasgow’s Hampden Park.

Timings
Gates open at 5pm at Hampden, with everyone urged to arrive early due to enhanced ticket checks.
Support act Jamie Lawson takes to the stage at around 6:30, followed by Anne-Marie at 7:30.
Sheeran’s set will start at 8:45.
The show will finish no later than 11pm.
Getting there
ScotRail say they’ve added extra carriages to and from Glasgow city centre, as well as on the route to Mount Florida, the closest station to Hampden.
The rail operator advises that queuing systems will be in place at Glasgow Central before the concert, and at Mount Florida station afterwards.
Concert-goers are asked to head back to Mount Florida as fast as possible after the event finishes and join the queues on Bolton Drive, as the last services of the evening will depart soon after and are expected to be exceptionally busy.

The busy services heading towards the city from Edinburgh, Aberdeen and Inverness haven’t been helped by a major fault with the signalling system between Falkirk High and Polmont.
Services heading towards Glasgow Queen Street are subject to delays and cancellations.

Complaints have already been made on social media on Friday about overcrowded trains heading towards Glasgow ahead of the concert.
Katrina Tweedie tweeted: “Hundreds of people squashed into the train to Glasgow from Highlands; pensioners with sticks left standing on platforms unable to board packed trains. Did you not get the memo about @edsheeran concerts?”
@ScotRail Why have more carriages not been put on for Ed Sheeran this weekend? It’s dangerous how many people are packed on these trains

@scotrail You could have put extra carriages on the 09.41 Inverness-Perth and 12.12 Perth- Glasgow Queen Street to avoid this…#unaceptableservice pic.twitter.com/oYMk6kCYku

Ticket check
Sheeran warned that secondary tickets will not be accepted for the shows.
In a bid to stub out touts inflating fees on resale sights, everyone attending will have to produce identification to prove they own the tickets.
Any secondary tickets will be cancelled and fans will be allowed to buy a new one at face value.
Weather
A Met Office yellow warning is in place across the country on Friday and Saturday.
Fans heading to Hampden should be prepared for the potential of heavy rain and thunderstorms.
The temperature also remains very warm.
