As the show opened, host Gary Lineker jokingly announced that Gerrard wasn’t a ‘lone ranger’ on the panel as he was joined by Rio Ferdinand and Frank Lampard.

Lineker then asked about Gerrard’s situation and whether there were truth to the rumours that he was Ibrox-bound.
The former England captain said: “I’ve held initial talks with Rangers and the plan is to pick them up in a couple of days time.”
When asked if he was confident about landing the job, he said: “We’ll see.”
He also added that the talks were ‘positive’ and would be picked up on Thursday.
Rangers announced that Graeme Murty had been relieved of his duties earlier today, with Jimmy Nicholl and Jonatan Johansson in charge until the end of the season.
Gerrard is understood to be the Ibrox club’s first choice for the post.
