Strictly Come Dancing contestant Jamie Laing says Nicola Adams should get another spin on the dance floor after being forced to quit.
The boxing champ had to leave the show after her dance partner, Katya Jones, tested positive for Covid-19.
Jamie, 31, was forced to pull out of Strictly last year after injuring his foot just before the live shows but was invited back for a second chance at the Glitterball Trophy. He now hopes Nicola will be allowed the same opportunity.
“Last year, I was grateful to just be invited onto the show and getting the opportunity to come back for a second year was just incredible.”
The Made in Chelsea star refuses to let concerns over Covid-19 affect his fun.
“We’re always taking precautions and being sensible and, unfortunately, sometimes you’re just unlucky,” he said. “We can’t do anything about it, we can’t control it, we just have to push on and have an incredible time because that’s what this show is about.”
Jamie and his professional dance partner, Karen Hauer, have proved popular with Strictly fans thanks to the fun and energy they inject into their routines every week. Last night, they danced a samba to Bamboleo by The Gypsy Kings.
Meanwhile, Strictly regular, Anton du Beke had to fill in for new judge Moti Mabuse last night, as she is also self-isolating for two weeks following an “urgent trip” to Germany.
Presenter Ryan Clark-Neal, who co-hosts Strictly’s spin-off show, It Takes Two, also announced he would miss out of two weeks of filming after coming into contact with someone who tested positive for Covid-19, telling fans on Twitter he was “Self Rysolating”.
