Katya Jones has revealed why she hasn’t taken off her wedding ring, despite her divorce plans – because it’s “too beautiful and too expensive”.
The 30-year-old has been spotted wearing her ring this series, despite splitting from dancer Neil Jones after she was caught kissing dance partner Seann Walsh last year.
“I wear it all the time,” she said. “It’s too pretty to take off. And it was probably expensive.
“I don’t want to lose it so it stays on my finger. It’s a beautiful ring.
“I don’t have a problem with wearing it so I don’t see why anyone else should.”
Asked if she would take it off if she started seeing someone else, she said: “We will see.”
Katya and dance partner Mike Bushell last night took to the floor to perform the Charleston.
Ahead of the performance, Mike said: “It’s the most energetic dance, with physical ups and downs and a couple of dramatic lifts. The rehearsals have left me pretty exhausted.”
The pair are hoping to avoid the dreaded dance off again after being in last week’s bottom two.
BBC Breakfast presenter Mike received a death threat after his dance-off competitor, former Coronation Street star Catherine Tyldesley, was voted off the show by judges in a decision questioned by many viewers.
But he said it won’t hinder his performance this weekend.
“It was just crazy and ridiculous,” he said.
“Initially we didn’t want the person to get away with it, but they deleted the Tweet so we’re just getting on with it.
“I have no problem with people having opinions, all we can do is our best.
“There are more important things in life so we’ve decided just to forget about it.
“It’s a happy show and we’ve had so much support since and so many nice messages.
“We’ll just rise above it.”
Katya joked: “He won’t be scared walking down the street – as he’s in the training room all day.
“I’ll keep him safe.”
