The Sunday Post has been shortlisted in seven categories at the Scottish Press Awards.
Reporter Peter Swindon is nominated in two: Scoop of the Year for his story revealing how NHS patients were sent into care homes despite testing positive for Covid-19; and Reporter of the Year after revealing no quarantine checks were done on travellers arriving in Scotland and exposing how work had stalled on a troubled ferry contract.
Our Hear Our Voice campaign, led by chief reporter Marion Scott, which successfully fought for the appointment of a Scottish patients’ commissioner is in the running for Campaign of the Year, while we are also shortlisted for Team of the Year for our in-depth coverage of the pandemic.
Features writer Laura Smith is nominated for the Nicola Barry Award for women journalists for a series of reports including an investigation into the failures in care for teenagers with mental health problems.
Murray Scougall has been shortlisted in the Arts and Entertainment category for articles covering dance, art and drama, while Alice Hinds is in the running in the Food and Drink category for interviews with culinary stars including Rick Stein and James Martin.
The winners will be announced on September 29.
